Hey everyone! It’s been some time since we talked fashion, sorry about that, I’ll make up for it, I promise! This post is a review of the www.dresslily.com online fashion store. Within a recent cooperation with them, I have received some fashion items for review. I chose the items myself, and I am quite satisfied with what I received. But let’s start with the beginning. Dresslily.com is an online fashion store that sells affordable fashion for men and women. And by affordable I mean very affordable. This is where it gets tricky. We all know that with cheap online fashion stores, what you see is not always what you get. On the other hand, getting clothes at a bargain price, delivered to your door is a big temptation and most of us have ordered via affordable online fashion stores at least once. When the item you get does not fit you or looks very different from what you saw on the internet picture, it’s not only disappointing, it’s a waste of money, even if it’s not a lot. Truth is, you can find some really cool-looking items in online stores and you’ll get them for a bargain, but you need to know how to choose them. What I did was look for stretchy fabric.
I know ahead that it’ll take the shape of my body and thus I don’t depend too much on size and tailoring. You might be tempted by those lady-like, bell-shaped cotton dresses and skirts but the risk of going wrong with those is much higher. Those require precise fitting and they always look better in a more expensive fabric. I don’t recommend ordering prom dresses on dresslily.com but you can easily spot a cool beach dress or something to wear on your nights out with friends and boyfriends 🙂 Next, I ordered some espadrille sandals to go with the dress and I’m satisfied with how they look and the sizing is right.
Again, I wouldn’t order office heels from dresslily.com, but you can find some really cool casual wear items there. I also looked for accessories for on this website and again I was satisfied with my choice. I opted for a faux leather Choker, stone flower earrings and a hand knitting summer Hat. The trick with choosing accessories from affordable online stores is keeping it very simple. If you want something elaborate or rich-looking, this is not the place to look. You’ll probably end up with something very kitsch-looking and desperate.
All in all, I would recommend dreslily.com as long as you’re careful with what you’re choosing and do not get carried away by the internet picture of the item.
