This season’s fashion is very glittery and silver boots step right in, like they own the place. Silver is a seasonal color, and this year, silver boots come in different shapes and heels, making a statement at any of your destinations. For this outfit, I paired them with

Overalls have always been one of my favorite fashion items since I was a little girl. Childish and sexy is a great combination for a woman to wear on any given day. What is truly amazing about overalls though, is their history in fashion.

As a free soul and a fashion addict, I could never really reconcile with the demands of dress codes. Still, having people’s jobs oftentimes depend on the right attire, and people being sure that one cannot climb the ladder of success dressed in the costume of failure, makes the dress code a thing to be reckoned with.

I’ve always been into leaving my home in whatever I was wearing. Actually my disregard for public opinion reached such heights that I went to university exams and restaurants in pajamas. I’ve always been naturally free of the gravity of what people think, I made no effort to be like this. Being in favor of breaking the rules, I was really excited to see designers coming up with these gorgeous pajama sets designed for outwear. I was immediately attracted to the trend. Now, on how I think it’s best to wear it:

Coco Chanel once discovered that the sexiest in a woman is the man inside her (no, not that you naughty kids!). It’s the Yin and Yang within, the opposites that are complimentary and it is actually the masculine which emphasizes the feminine in a woman. So, Coco’s fashion was often times inspired from what men around her wore, and such is the case of the now legendary tweed jacket. Continue Reading

Velvet was once royal and it hasn’t forgotten about that. Even though the industrial revolution has made velvet affordable to the masses, it still remains a fabric that stands out from the crowd. Gordon Richardson, creative director of Topman, explains the fabric’s appeal: “Velvet is one of those perennial classics that are faintly nostalgic, reminiscent of simpler, noble times,” he says. “And it is particularly good at taking on colour due to its sumptuous depth of pile.” And indeed, some of the richest colors can be produced when dying velvet. Although velvet is a lavish fabric, you can easily wear an all-velvet outfit and still not look as if you’re exhibiting this year’s high-end upholstery fabrics. “There is an overriding sex appeal to velvet,” says Tony Glenville, creative director at London College of Fashion. So here I am, somewhere deep in the country, wearing this awesome, linen, knitted Ivana Helsinki dress, all covered in gold threads. Its heavy fabric makes it fall beautifully just a bit below the knee-my favorite skirt length. Tight enough to show I’m a woman, but loose enough to show I’m a lady…and so the story begins…a friend of mine told me the other day when I complemented her cool look “well, I’m going out with you tonight and I know you’ll get the style I’m wearing so I could wear what I want, but I don’t dress this way when I’m with other people because they won’t get me”. I was saddened to hear that. If there’s something I want you to take with you from my blog, is that you should be as wild as your heart wants you to be, because those are the only moments when you’re truly alive. I find that most often passion is the art of weak men. Strong men, as strange as it may appear, know how to love but they know little about passion. That is why beautiful women who are, by nature awarded the possibility of choice, are found next to weak men. This raises a question mark in everyone’s mind, as it would seem natural that they would cast their choice on the strong men. Continue Reading

It would seem silly to have only one day a year to celebrate what was chanted by artists to be the meaning of life. Still, mankind has managed to pick a day out of all 365 and say “this is the day when you’ll speak about your feelings for one another”. That which cures what medicine cannot, seems to be deemed unimportant too often these days. One thing I caught myself doing throughout life is watching other people living their lives. It beats any movie and unfortunately, what I often notice is that they think there are better things to do with one’s life than love. Continue Reading

My cat, Rafael, chose my outfit for today…and I think he did a really good job  It turns out he has quite a sense of fashion that I think he developed during the years when he assisted my dressing-up process by climbing into the closet and making himself cozy under my clothes. So today I decided to follow his steps and see how good he really is at picking outfits.  Continue Reading
