Often considered obedient dogs, Poodles learn and are trained quickly and easily. They’re great swimmers and are curious, so tend to be full of energy.
German shepherds are eager to please and to learn, which makes them easily trained. As such, they are guard dogs, search and rescue dogs, and even assist in the military.
These dogs are filled with energy and a sense of purpose! Collies want to work and are adept at making connections with people and other animals. They’re athletic and historically bred for herding, so they’re also natural leaders.
Golden’s are fabulous family pets because they are so affectionate and gentle. They can learn over 200 commands (almost like they can speak English) and are incredibly trainable. Golden’s are often patient and you’ll probably find them sitting gently between grandma’s feet.
Like the Golden Retriever, you’ll often find Labs among families with kids because they’re such affectionate and sympathetic dogs. They’re known to be loving and devoted, and easily trained. These qualities make for a great companion or assistant, as you’ll see Labs working in rescue groups, as guide animals, or with police.
Known to “herd” their families, Shetlands are fabulous leaders and protectors. They’re easily trained and painfully devoted.
These little cuties are anything but meek. They’re known for their big personalities, their endurance and athleticism, and their protectiveness. They make for good watch or guard dogs and snuggle buddies because of their fidelity. They’ve been known to be litter-trainable as well!
Rottweilers are working dogs. They’re bred for their inquisitiveness, their loyalty, and their courage. They make for great guard or police dogs, which is what they’ve historically been bred for.
Dobermans are fearless dogs. They’re easily trained and very athletic. They’re well attuned to their surroundings, making them both aware and reactive.
Though Bloodhounds are friendly and sweet, they are durable and tough dogs. They’re bred for the hunt so they can be stubborn but razor-focused. They’re sharp dogs, with a soft center.
