It would seem silly to have only one day a year to celebrate what was chanted by artists to be the meaning of life. Still, mankind has managed to pick a day out of all 365 and say “this is the day when you’ll speak about your feelings for one another”. That which cures what medicine cannot, seems to be deemed unimportant too often these days. One thing I caught myself doing throughout life is watching other people living their lives. It beats any movie and unfortunately, what I often notice is that they think there are better things to do with one’s life than love. I can never fully comprehend why is it that they do not understand- in the absence of love, there is no life. But truth is, nothing in this life is more difficult than love. You have to work to get it, struggle, fight, fall, rise, lose your mind and then search for it, come to senses and then lose your head again. You have to be brave, defeat your fears and go to war and find love on the other end of the battlefield. And when you do, and you think you’ve won and the hardest times are all behind you, you’re up for the biggest battle yet. You have to fight to keep it.
But one thing I’m absolutely sure from my observations is I’ve never seen people happier than those in love. They always appear as guests to our world, and they always seem to be waiting for the time to leave, so they can be alone. And that is truly amazing. So, in the spirit of the Day of Love I would like to urge all of you to say “yes” to the one you love, no matter how scared you are or how hard it is and even if you regret it afterwards, because if you say no you’ll be sorry for the rest of your life, thinking about what might have been. And no matter what happens, in the end of the day, no one can take away the dances you’ve already had.
And since the world is oh so excited about St. Valentine’s, I’d like suggest an outfit that I think matches the romanticism of this day and most of all it will keep you warm and feminine at the same time. I am again sporting one of my favorite brands, Twinset. I love the match between tulle, lace and wool that is so beloved by designers this winter. It carries an intensified feeling of nonchalance. So, what I suggest is matching this long pleated tulle skirt with lace inlays (similar here affordable here) with this mohair cardigan that also doubles up as a jumper with alternated stripes. It comes along with a removable top with embroidery and double flounced hem.
And don’t forget, it’s of course a lot about what you wear but most of all, it’s about how you wear it. I think a woman’s outfit makes no sense unless it inspires men to take it off her…and this is particularly true for St. Valentine’s day 😉
